How to Host a Galentine's Spa Night

February 13, 2021 3 min read

What’s better than curling up with a good docu-series, a DIY-spa set-up, and well-plated apps? Nothing! That’s why we’ve got The Ultimate Guide to Self-Care for you and your closest gal pal crew. Celebrating Valentine’s Day with your very own Galentine’s Spa Night has never been more fun or relaxing.

Arrivals

Have your ladies arrive in comfy sweats and bring along a towel, robe, and manicure set of their own. You can make the entrance into the “spa” feel fancy by getting apair of jute baskets and placing them by the door. Leave one basket empty and fill the other with cute, personalized slides--we opt for an open toe which is best for post-pedicure protection.

Your ladies can get comfortable as soon as they arrive by dropping their shoes into the empty basket and grabbing their slides from the other. This system helps keep clutter at bay and keeps your floors and carpets clean. Bonus!

The Details

For my Galentine’s gathering, I’m considering using this beautifultitanium flatware with some gold plates over flashy magenta chargers and thesepink leaves tea towels to serve up a collection of pastries and cakes. If you’re a stickler for details, like I am, you know that a delightfully tasteful centerpiece will help set the tone for a relaxing evening. Think fresh florals, herbed greenery, and scented candles. I recommend a musky citruscandle to help make your living room feel like a vacation resort.

The Snacks

The next step is to make sure you have a great spread! Keep it simple with a charcuterie board or go all the way and set a fancy table with chargers, tea towels, and full place settings. Having plenty of sparkling or natural spring water and sliced fruits, cucumbers, and herbs will feel decadent...and, also, a signature cocktail.

The Signature Drink

Signature pink drink for girls night

My friends and I always do a signature drink, it makes the evening fun, festive, and extra special. This year we’re thinking a Hibiscus Spritzer sounds delicious and the recipe is super easy. It’s essentially a combination of: hibiscus simple syrup, vodka, sparkling water, and a lime garnish. You can also add a little water to lessen the sweetness if you want.

The Spa

After finishing your snacks, you can dive into the do-it-yourself spa treatments.

My gals and I are super into skincare. My friend and I even went to Soko Glams American launch in SoHo a few years ago. Soko is a South Korean brand, they have a specific way to go about your routine that includes a 10-step process which we all now follow.Check it out! Beware, it’s addicting!

And I’ve been following LA Beautyologist for years, she came up with the60-second rule, it was featured in Cosmo last year. This is another do not miss part of our routine!

What you’ll need:

  • For manicures and pedicures, you’ll need cotton balls, polish remover, luxurious lotions as well as a base, and topcoat.
  • For skincare, you’ll need makeup remover wipes, cleansers, toners, serums, everything for a deep clean 10 step routine. Don’t forget a timer to make sure you’re cleansing for a full minute!
  • For meditation or aromatherapy, you can download a lot of great guided meditations. Light a couple ofcandles or melt your favoritetart, sit on a pillow or cushion and then press play.

When all the pampering is done, curl up with the gals and press play on the docuseries of your choice. What have you been watching?
